VP End of Half Report
First off, I want to thank all of our sponsors, fans, the Meraloma Club executive and our alumni who have supported the resurgence of the Meraloma Rugby Club. I have to say, the results are strong and the player numbers continue to grow and the club culture is back.
The men's program had a very successful first half of the season finishing 9-2 with both losses coming from our Premier League promotion rival, Seattle. The positive news is that in the second match up, the Lomas lead the entire game until the last 3 minutes and were pressing even later in the game to take the lead back. This shows major progress from our first match up.
Graham Sims, Director of Rugby and men's head coach, has done a great job keeping the interest level high and has increased the skill level of each player and the team as a whole in a few short months. With some momentum heading into the second half, the men look to continue to build and rejoin the BC Premier League for the 2015-2016 season.
We look forward to seeing you all out at our next men's home game. January 31st against Surrey. Go Lomas go!
